Unsure of which session to book?

Ducklings taster

Ducklings sessions are the early stages of swimming lessons within Swim England's Learn to Swim programme, the perfect introduction to swimming lessons.

Ducklings sessions are focused on building confidence and comfort within the water for children, before they are ready to start more independent swimming.

For children 3 years - 4 years old

Stage 1 swim taster

Stage 1 classes focus on developing water confidence, safe movement and basic swimming skills without parent support.

In Stage 1, children will begin to build independence and confidence in the water, learning essential skills such as floating & submerging and understanding basic pool safety.

For children 4 years and over

Stage 2 swim taster

Stage 2 is the next step within Swim England's Learn to Swim Programme, and it focuses on improving water confidence further.

In Stage 2, children will build on their floating and travelling skills within the water, whilst beginning to refine their kicking technique and coordinated arm movements - strengthening the core aquatic skills.

For children 4 years and over

Stage 4 and above swim assessments

Swim assessments for children help to ensure that swimmers are placed in the most suitable stage for their swimming journey. This is because, as children get older, their swimming ability and confidence can vary significantly.

Benefits of a swimming assessment includes:

  • Correct class placement
  • Helps with building confidence
  • Supports faster progression
  • Identifies skill gaps

For children in stages 4 and above
