Jack and the Beanstalk on Ice

A poor country boy seeking a better life, enchanted goose and an unfriendly giant all come to Guildford this December for our annual ice pantomime!

Spectrum will be transported to a winter wonderland this Christmas, as the popular pantomime 'Jack and the Beanstalk' takes to the ice.

The fun-filled festive ice show will run from 9th to 12th December and will feature performances by some of the region's rising skating stars!

Jack and the Beanstalk is one of the oldest and best-known fairy tales in Britain, and has long been one of the most popular of pantomime themes. The story is set at the home of Jack and his mother, a poor little boy who lives in the countryside. Jack and his mother find themselves in a desperate situation, with the only option to sell the family cow. However an unexpected series of events occur, and young Jack finds himself on an adventure of a lifetime to to a place high up in the clouds where no one has been before. Add the characters of an enchanted goose and unfriendly giant to the drama, and there promises to be plenty of action all around.

What makes our annual pantomime so special is all those who take part in it! It is a real community event, performed entirely by a cast of talented young skaters drawn from Spectrum's acclaimed skating programme, who will re-create all the magic of the fairy tale with flying jumps, dizzying spins and energetic dance routines. Together with colourful costumes and the creative choreography of show co-ordinators Melissa Galvin-Tyers and Ruth Woodstock, this will be a visual extravaganza for all ages.

Still one of the region's best value Christmas shows, this adaptation of a classic story promises to have all the ingredients of a truly spectacular family treat.
