Children's Skating Courses
Children's Ice Skating 5-16 years old
The Skate UK programme has been devised by the British Ice Skating in conjunction with the Ice Rink Managers Association and Skating coaches in the UK to ensure the programme contained all the nationally accepted skating standards. We reserve the right to move skaters to classes to suit their needs and abilities.
Whether you wish to be an Ice Hockey player, Figure Skater or Speed Skater the Skate UK Programme will take you from the first steps onto the ice, through to being a competent and confident ice skater. Hockey Skates are not suitable from Skate UK level 5.
All courses are suitable for 5-16 year olds. To start your ice skating jounery all you are required to do is be able to stand on the ice unaided. Please ensure that when children are brought to Ice Skating lessons they are wearing warm clothing, socks & gloves. Skate hire is included in the price. Safety helmets are compulsory for grades 1-4 and are available from skate hire.
We advise arriving early on the first session to allow time to sort out boots etc. To gain optimum benefit from the skating course we recommend at least one practice session between courses.
Skaters should wear their own figure skates for free skating. (No repetition of Gold Free Level). For UK STAR a passport must be purchased from Customer Services at the start of term.
