Spectrum Ice - The Coolest Place to have Fun!
Guildford Spectrum houses an Olympic sized ice rink which is used by thousands of people each week. Whether you are an experienced ice dancer or a wannabe Flames player, Spectrum Ice is available all year round for you!

Penguin Skating Aids
Penguin shaped skating aids are available to hire on the day on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be advised we have a limited number available and they are hired in 15 minute sessions.  At peak times the penguins are very popular with our younger visitors and as we currently only have 15 penguins they may not always be available during your visit.  Please click here ]for further details.  

Helmets
We recommend that children wear a helmet whilst on the ice. Adults can also wear helmets but they are available on a first come, first served basis. We don't have enough for every skater. Therefore if you have a cycle helmet with a chin strap bring that with you.

Skate Hire
Please note that our ice skates available from Skate Hire range from a child size 6 to an adult size 14.

Simply Skate
Sessions are on Monday, Tuesday (figure & rental skates only) and Wednesday evenings and are a relaxing skate with music. Also on Tuesday evenings there is a 15 minute dance interval at 9.15pm.

Ice Cool Classics
Thursday evenings is a session with a DJ who plays classic hits and special requests.

The Big Deal Ticket
10 public skating sessions for £45.00.  Only 1 person per session admitted with this ticket.  This ticket does not include skate hire.  This ticket must be used for public skating sessions within the 6 weeks expiry date shown. Ticket for 1 adult or 1 junior.

Skate Grinding 
Hockey Skates can be sharpened Monday to Sunday, 9.00am to 9.00pm.  Figure Skates can be left at any time, they will be sharpened on a Monday evening and can be collected from Tuesday onwards.  For more information about skate grinding please speak to a member of the Ice Team at Skate Hire.  Please pay for skate grinding at Main Reception, £6.50 per pair.   

Ice Dance Club
Tuesdays 7.30-8.30pm. £5.00 per session or £7.20 to include Simply Skate session

Training Ice

The Guildford Flames
Spectrum is home to the Premier Cup and League Champions 2011-2012 - The Guildford Flames. Playing from September to April, a Flames match is action-packed, full of drama and an exciting night out for the family.   Tenpin Bowling

Whether you're young or old, bowling is a great activity to take part in. For those who are new at bowling or need a "helping hand" we can provide ramps and bumpers to help you get a higher score. The scoring system is fully computerised, type your name in and away you go! Tickets are for 1 game of bowling.

Tickets are available 7 days a week from 1st May to 31st December 2013.  Your last activity must be started before 5pm.

Ice Skating is a great activity for all ages and abilities to take part in. Spectrum offer 2 membership options for regular skaters that are training and having lessons.

Skate Direct has been designed as an easy monthly payment scheme for our regular training ice members.

Tuesday League
The Tuesday Fun Doubles League is a BTBA sanctioned handicap league that rolls off every Tuesday at 7.45pm.  The Fun Doubles caters for all types of bowlers, from beginners to the more experienced.  The handicap system is a great leveller and is used to ensure that everyone has a good chance of winning.  If you are interested in joining the league either as a doubles team, with up to four registered players, or as an individual please contact the league secretary, [howard@tuesdayfundoubles.org.uk] or visit the website [http://www.tuesdayfundoubles.org.uk/].

Wednesday League
The Wednesday Doubles League is a BTBA sanctioned handicap doubles league that rolls off every Wednesday at 7.15pm. All types of players are catered for, from beginners to the more experienced, with everyone having a good chance as the handicap system used is a great leveller.

Thursday Morning League
This is a fun league open to everyone over 16 years of age. It is held weekly on Thursday mornings between September and June. Matches are played 10am - 12noon and lineage is £7.60 for each person bowling (this includes shoe hire and a free drink). Any person or new team interested in joining the League will be very welcome and should pop down on Thursday. 

Youth Bowling Club
The Youth Bowling Club] or YBC is a very popular club for bowlers aged eight to eighteen. The club plays every Saturday morning from 9.00am to 11.00am. This social and fun group are happy to welcome new bowlers. Each session costs £7.00, annual membership is FREE! All equipment, instruction and shoe hire are included in the fee.

Spectrum Pools - FAN-SPLASH-TIC!

Spectrum has a magnificent complex of four pools with a variety of sessions for beginners and splashers, to serious swimmers and divers.  

Pool Safety - Please read before your visit.
All children under 9 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult.  Only 2 children under 9 years to every one adult of which only one child can be under 4 years.  During Toddler Splash sessions up to 2 children under 4 years can be accompanied by a responsible adult.  An adult is someone aged 16 and over.

Please inform the lifeguard if anyone in your group suffers from a medical condition. e.g. epilepsy. There is disabled visitor access to all pools and two chair hoists are available to gain access to the competition pool. Please do not hesitate to ask if you require assistance.

Leisure Pool
The Leisure Pool is an exciting area with fun features including flumes, a tyre ride, bubble beds, sprays and a wave machine. You can also race your friends on the Surf, our 3 lane slide.

At peak times a coloured band system operates in the leisure pool. A minimum of 90 minutes is allocated to your visit to the Pools subject to opening hours and capacities.

At peak times the wave machine operates for five minutes in every thirty.  During off-peak sessions the wave machine operates for five minutes once an hour.  The Whizz and and Surf slides are not available during off-peak times.

Competition Pool (25 Metre Pool)
The pool is a 25 x 17 metre, 8 lane deck level swimming pool which is the home of our resident swimming club - [Guildford City SC]. The opening times and detail on the various sessions in this pool can be found in our times and prices section. Guildford Spectrum is also on [Splashpath] which is a FREE downloadable App where you can register your achievements every time you visit the pool, search for pools near you and also get involved in exciting challenges like Swim to Alcatraz, Swim the Nile and Swim the Thames (without the tummy bugs!!)

Slide Height Guidelines
For The Surf and Aqua Whizz, riders must be over 1 metre tall to use the slide.  For the Ramp, riders must be under 1 metre tall to use the slide.

The Leisure Pool is available to hire for children's parties, work events or any other celebration you can think off.

Hire includes exclusive use of the leisure pool for up to 75 people, use of the aqua whizz, flume, tyre ride, spa and water features for the duration of the party, 2 wave machine sessions and use of the surf slide for the last 30 minutes of the party. Safety Information - Child Admission Policy;
All children under the age of 9 must be accompanied in the water by an adult.  Only two children under 9 to every adult. All children under 4 years of age must be accompanied in the water on a 1 adult to 1 child basis.  An adult is someone aged 16 or over.

Guildford family celebrate prize win at Spectrum


A local family from Guildford will be having even more family fun at Spectrum this year after they were chosen as the winner in Spectrum’s Family Fun 2011 Prize Draw. The complex, managed by Freedom Leisure, announced the winner of its annual Family Fun competition from thousands of entries and the delighted Clarke family have won £200 worth of vouchers to use at the leisure complex.

Rob Clarke and son Thomas received their prize from Freedom Leisure Duty Manager, Melanie Main, along with Spectrum’s loveable mascot, Specky. The Clarke family were delighted to hear the news. “It’s just brilliant. We’re so pleased to have won this prize. We often visit Spectrum for swimming and also love the ice skating and bowling.  This will make it so much easier to come to Spectrum as a family without having to consider the cost.” 

Woking family scoop Spectrum Prize

A local family is celebrating this week as they picked up a prize at Guildford Spectrum.

The complex, managed by Freedom Leisure, announced the 2011 winners of its annual Family Fun competition and the delighted Goodchild family from Woking has won a year's Family Membership to the leisure complex giving them access to free swimming, skating and bowling. Spectrum's loveable mascot, Specky the Dog, was there to present the prize.

For Woking mum, Nicole Goodchild, the year's free use will enable her and her family to visit Spectrum more often. "We are overwhelmed with the news. It's a real treat to come to Spectrum so we're really going to enjoy being able to use the facilities more often"

The Aroma Room
Relax in a warm room with the aromas of lavendar, rosemary or pine.  The normal operating temperature is a comfortable 30 - 35 degrees centigrade, making the aroma room the ideal choice for those who find conventional sauna bathing too hot - relaxation not perspiration!

The Steam Room

What is Exercise Referral?

Exercise and Weight Management referral is a 12 week programme of supervised activity for the prevention, improvement and/or medial management of individual health conditions.

What can I expect from the Exercise Referral Scheme?

You will meet a qualified exercise specialist, who will devise an activity plan with regular reviews to see how you are getting on, in order to:

- Help you achieve your best results
- Provide safe and effective exercise
- Empower you to make positive changes to your lifestyle and become more active
- Advise, motivate and support you

The activity plan is a 12 week personal exercise plan tailored specifically for you.  The plan will be based on the following information you provide to us:

- Your current health status
- Any medical conditions you may have
- What you enjoy doing
- What you would like to try
- Your lifestyle

How can exercise help you?

You will have been referred on to the scheme because your GP or Health Professional thinks you will benefit from more exercise.  Research shows that increasing the amount of activity you do can make significant improvements to your health, well-being and lifestyle.

What counts as exercise or physical activity?

The key to enjoying exercise is to incorporate fun activities in to your every day life.  We will help to start you off in a safe environment and raise awareness as to what is available in the area.

How do I take part?

Firstly, you need to get in contact with your GP who will ask you to complete a 'Patient Referral Form'.  If you are successful in your referral from you GP, Practice Nurse or Consultant, you can then contact one of our on-site exercise referral and weight management specialists to arrange your initial consultation. 

Please call 01483 443355 to arrange your appointment with one of our referral specialists.  You will need to bring your 'Patient Referral Form' with you on your first visit.

How much does the scheme cost?

The initial registration fee is £15.00.  This includes a free assessment and induction with regular monitoring over your 12 week plan from an exercise referral specialist.  You will then have access to energy level gym & spa at Guildford Spectrum, with the option of 2 payment methods:

1. £60 for 12 weeks access to the supervised sessions
2. Or you can pay as you come along: £3.70 per supervised session.

Supervised sessions

Our exercise and weight management referral sessions are fully supervised by our on-site referral specialists, who will be on hand throughout the session to provide you with exercise tips, arrange small group classes, to regularly review your progress and programme and to be available for any questions.  Our supervised sessions run on the following times and days:

Sport at Guildford Spectrum - Something for Everyone!
Spectrum is the ideal venue for a wide range of indoor and outdoor sporting activities. Whether you want to be part of a team, have coaching or just spectate, Spectrum has the sport for you.

Virtually all major sports can be catered for at Spectrum. A wide range of track and field events are also available plus many more including gymnastics and martial arts. 

Sports Arena
The superb 1300m2 Sports Arena has a semi sprung beech wood floor and has seating for up to 1500 spectators. With capacity for up to ten badminton courts; two 5-a-side football pitches; two basketball courts; two volleyball courts or a combination of these.

The Action Suite
The Action Suite is a multi-use hall with a mirrored wall and an integrated sound system. The Suite is designed primarily to accommodate Spectrum's varied range of exercise classes and aerobic sessions.

The Athletics Stadium
This international standard 400 metre all weather athletics track with eight lanes, has terraced seating for 800 spectators.  Spectrum's Athletics Stadium is the perfect venue for track and field events for clubs, schools, teams and individuals. Spectrum also offers an extensive range of field event equipment.

Xtreme Activate 
Xtreme Activate is a fun packed day that will entertain and challenge young children.  This exciting holiday course is split into two different age groups (5 - 8 years and 9 - 12 years) and then further to groups of 16 children to two coaches. 

May Holidays: Monday 27th May - Sunday 2nd June

[Ice Skating]
This activity gives children a wonderful opportunity to gain a taste of skating if inexperienced or a chance to brace the ice with their skills for the more experienced.  The younger ages will be able to skate with the knowledge that they will have their own sectioned off area of the ice so more focus and emphasis can be given by the activity coaches, whereas the older ages will be able to whizz around with the public during a normal session.

[Bowling] 
We provide one full game of bowling.  Children can test their skills against each other to try and achieve the highest score possible, knowing that they are up against watchful eyes from the other Activators!!!

[Swimming] 
For the older age group only (9 years +).  Children will be able to experience the thrills of the Leisure Pool.  Coaches will also be in the water to keep a watchful eye.  All slides are available to use as well as the spa area and wave pool.  But beware.... the challenge is when the waves are on!

[Specky's Pirate Ship] 
For the younger age group only (under 9 years).  The four levelled Pirate Ship provides a safe and inviting environment for children to explore through its slides, swings, ball ponds, netting and much more to conquer victorious.  Navigate through the ship to catch animals and fellow Activators.  Remember.... the treasure is never far!!!

Trampolining
Bouncing on one of our full sized trampolines will allow children to improve their co-ordination whilst having fun.  Taking part in a variety of games and learning new skills and tricks on the trampoline will give them an edge over their friends. 

Track Time
Activities and games down on the Athletics Track allows children to get some fresh air, whatever the weather.  Such games as rounders, touch rugby, splat and games with the rope and parachute.  These fast, frantic and enjoyable games will improve team playing ability and trying to get an edge over the opponent.  Watch out though, there may be some instances where winning can result in forfeits!  

Arts and Crafts
During Arts and Crafts, we like to celebrate individuality.  All children think differently, so why not get them started with free play.  Whilst being given a specific theme, children can explore into the world of their powerful imagination to create something spectacular to take home at the end of the day. 

What else do you need to know...
To guarantee that your child enjoys their time at Xtreme Activate they will need to bring the following;

• A Jacket/Coat for going outside
• Swimwear (9 years + only)
• Packed lunch with a drink
• Any items of clothing needed for ice skating
• An additional bottled drink, which must be reusable with your child's name clearly marked.

For security purposes, the registration form requires a password.  This password will need to be given to staff when the parent/guardian collects the child.  The Xtreme Activate Superviser will keep the password secure.  If the password is forgotten the Supervisor will need to be notified and a new password recorded.

Pre-Voyage checklist

Don't forget to purchase your tickets from Main Reception before heading along to Specky's Pirate Ship

All pirates aged 8 and under must be supervised by an adult who may remain in the departure dock, or join the pirates on their adventure if they feel brave enough. (Max 3 children per adult) Whilst happy to be of assistance, we must stress that the accompanying adult is responsible for the little pirates in their care.

• Socks must be worn and we advise that you cover your arms and legs
• Pirates buggies and shoes must be left in the departure dock
• To prevent sinking, all sharp objects must be removed before jumping aboard
• Food and drink must be confined to the departure dock
• Lockers are available for valuables, to give parents the freedom to assist in play

NEW - Pit Slot (Scaletrix type) Racing
Come and bring your friends to experience the thrill of a big race day on our GIANT 8-lane Scaletrix type racing track. Each driver gets to race 8 races with a trophy for the winner of an exciting final 'race-off!'. 

A party for up to 10 racing drivers (5 yrs+ Monday - Sunday) is £120, and for up to 15 people is £150. Medals and additional trophies can be purchased separately. Party food can be arranged in Costa Coffee, Trattoria and Wimpy.

Trampoline Party
Jump around with your friends at a truly hair raising trampolining party. One of our qualified coaches will show you and your party some basic bounces and then leap into some games.  Trampoline parties are available at weekends only and last for approximately 1 hour. 

Children must be aged 6 yrs+.  Prices for up to 10 children £107.00, for up to 20 children £146.00.  Party food can be arranged in Costa Coffee, Trattoria and Wimpy. 

Funtime Pool Party
Make a splash with a Spectrum Funtime Pool Party, you will have exclusive use of our Teaching Pool and a dedicated lifeguard. It's a pool party with a difference, we provide mats, balls, surfboards and organised games.

Funtime Pool Parties are only available at weekends for 4 to 8 year olds. One supervising adult must be present for every 3 children under 9 years old (supervisors will gain free entry to the pool). This party costs £107.00 for 10 to 20 children. Party food can be arranged in Costa Coffee, Trattoria and Wimpy.

Ice Skating
You and your friends can really cut the ice at Spectrum where you will enjoy 45 minutes of fun and games with one of our friendly ice hosts. You will have your own section of our Olympic ice rink where you can practice being the next Torvill & Dean. Skaters of all levels are welcome.

Parties cater for up to 10, 6 to 7 year olds or up to 12, 8 to 12 year olds. Parties are available on Friday's at £93.00, Saturday's and Sunday's at £107.00.  Party Food can be arranged in Costa Coffee and Wimpy.  

Cheerleading Party
Have lots of laughs and fun while learning the latest cheerleading moves taught by our professional cheerleading coach.  We will supply pom poms for all your guests for the duration of the party.

Parties cater for up to 12, 6 to 11 year olds and are available on weekends for £107.00 (or £125.00 for up to 18 children).  Party food can be arranged in Costa Coffee, Trattoria and Wimpy. 

Zumbatomic Party
Zumbatomic is a latin-inspired dance class for children aged 6 - 11 years.  In our Zumbatomic parties we incorporate simplified routines with fun, energetic music that todays' children love to shake to.  Each party comprises of fun routines, games and exciting props!

Parties cater for up to 12,  6 to 11 year olds and are available on weekends for £107.00 (or £125.00 for up to 18 children).  Party food can be arranged in Costa Coffee, Trattoria and Wimpy.  

Secret Agent Academy Party
On arrival to The Special Agent Academy participants will be split into two competing teams who will then perform a variety of tasks, physical, mental and tactical - concluding in an action laser game.  Tasks will be based on the ability of the age group.

Players scores will be recorded onto their own Secret Agent souvenir passport to establish individual performance and the overall winning team.  Parties are available Saturdays and Sundays £110.00. Parties cater for up to 16,  6 to 15 year olds.  Party food can be arranged in Costa Coffee, Trattoria and Wimpy.

Tenpin Bowling
A chance to bowl your friends over with a party in Spectrum's 32 lane tenpin bowling centre. A lane marshall will be on hand to introduce any beginners to bowling and bumpers are available to ensure a score for everyone, every time! Music will be added to the party atmosphere and give your guests a striking time! 

Parties cater for up to 15 children 5 to 14 years and are available 7 days a week.  Weekday parties are £93.00, weekend parties £107.00.  (An extra lane can be booked at a cost of £24.50 for a weekday party and £27.50 for a weekend party for a group of up to 20 children). Party food can be arranged in Trattoria. 

Football Party
For all those budding World Cup players, a Spectrum football party is the one for you. This party is packed with football skills, games and of course the Big Match to finish. A member of our staff will lead you through this footy fest, boys and girls are welcome.

Parties cater for between 10 and 16 children aged 6 to 14 years and are available at weekends only for £107.00.  Party food can be arranged at Costa Coffee, Trattoria and Wimpy. 

Specky's Pirate Ship
Climb, tumble, crawl and fall at a Specky's Pirate Ship Party. Come and have a soft play adventure with one of our party hosts who will lead you and your friends around the safe paradise where you will play games.

Archery Tag Party

Archery Tag is a phenomenal new concept in safe friendly combat sports that utilizes archery with special reusable foam tipped arrows to play the game. Players divide into two teams and hide behind inflatable bunkers and try to be the first to eliminate the opposing team.  For the budding Robin Hood or Katniss, Archery Tag is the most fun you could ever have with a bow and arrow.  Archery Tag parties cater for a maximum of 20 children aged 10 years and over.

Parties from 10 to 250 people can be catered for.  Parties of over 50 people will be catered for in staggered intervals.  Bar Runner Service is available for an additional charge.  All prices are per person and inclusive of VAT.  A 20% deposit will be taken when booking your party. The Leisure Pool is available to hire for children's parties, work events or any other celebration you can think off.

Hire includes exclusive use of the leisure pool for up to 75 people, use of the aqua whizz, flume, tyre ride, spa and water features for the duration of the party, 2 wave machine sessions and use of the surf slide for the last 30 minutes of the party. Your group will be fully supervised by our qualified lifeguards.

There is also the option to have a larger group (i.e above 75 people as above), subject to an additional charge of £75 for each additional block of 25 swimmers.

Safety Information - Child Admission Policy;
All children under the age of 9 must be accompanied in the water by an adult.  Only two children under 9 to every adult. All children under 4 years of age must be accompanied in the water on a 1 adult to 1 child basis.  An adult is someone aged 16 or over.

Xtreme Activate 
Xtreme Activate is a fun packed day that will entertain and challenge young children.  This exciting holiday course is split into two different age groups (5 - 8 years and 9 - 12 years) and then further to groups of 16 children to two coaches. 

May Holidays: Monday 27th May - Sunday 2nd June

Xtreme Activate will run from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday 28th May to Friday 31st May at a cost of £22.50 per day (£80 for 4 days) 

Xtreme Activate Xtra will run from 8.30am - 6pm, Tuesday 28th May to Friday 31st May at a cost of £30.90 per day (£113.60 for 4 days)

Children attending Xtreme Activate take part in activities such as ice skating, bowling, swimming (for children 9 years +), exploring Specky's Pirate Ship (for the younger ages), trampolining, track time and arts and crafts.  With such an array of activities, a great time will be had by all - please click here ]for the daily timetables

[Ice Skating]
This activity gives children a wonderful opportunity to gain a taste of skating if inexperienced or a chance to brace the ice with their skills for the more experienced.  The younger ages will be able to skate with the knowledge that they will have their own sectioned off area of the ice so more focus and emphasis can be given by the activity coaches, whereas the older ages will be able to whizz around with the public during a normal session.

[Bowling] 
We provide one full game of bowling.  Children can test their skills against each other to try and achieve the highest score possible, knowing that they are up against watchful eyes from the other Activators!!!

[Swimming] 
For the older age group only (9 years +).  Children will be able to experience the thrills of the Leisure Pool.  Coaches will also be in the water to keep a watchful eye.  All slides are available to use as well as the spa area and wave pool.  But beware.... the challenge is when the waves are on!

[Specky's Pirate Ship] 
For the younger age group only (under 9 years).  The four levelled Pirate Ship provides a safe and inviting environment for children to explore through its slides, swings, ball ponds, netting and much more to conquer victorious.  Navigate through the ship to catch animals and fellow Activators.  Remember.... the treasure is never far!!!

Trampolining
Bouncing on one of our full sized trampolines will allow children to improve their co-ordination whilst having fun.  Taking part in a variety of games and learning new skills and tricks on the trampoline will give them an edge over their friends. 

Track Time
Activities and games down on the Athletics Track allows children to get some fresh air, whatever the weather.  Such games as rounders, touch rugby, splat and games with the rope and parachute.  These fast, frantic and enjoyable games will improve team playing ability and trying to get an edge over the opponent.  Watch out though, there may be some instances where winning can result in forfeits!  

Arts and Crafts
During Arts and Crafts, we like to celebrate individuality.  All children think differently, so why not get them started with free play.  Whilst being given a specific theme, children can explore into the world of their powerful imagination to create something spectacular to take home at the end of the day. 

What else do you need to know...
To guarantee that your child enjoys their time at Xtreme Activate they will need to bring the following;

• A Jacket/Coat for going outside
• Swimwear (9 years + only)
• Packed lunch with a drink
• Any items of clothing needed for ice skating
• An additional bottled drink, which must be reusable with your child's name clearly marked.

For security purposes, the registration form requires a password.  This password will need to be given to staff when the parent/guardian collects the child.  The Xtreme Activate Superviser will keep the password secure.  If the password is forgotten the Supervisor will need to be notified and a new password recorded.

Booking Arrangements

Bookings for the Activate programme can be made in person at Customer Service Desk, Monday - Thursday from 9am - 6.30pm, Friday from 9am - 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm or by telephoning 01483 443322, option 4, from Monday 29th April.

Course bookings will only be accepted with payment.  All major and debit cards are accepted (not American Express).  Cheques should be made payable to Freedom Leisure.  All course places are sold on a first come, first served basis.  We regret we can not guarantee a place on the course.  Waiting lists will be opened once a cours becomes full.  

All courses include admission to Guildford Spectrum for the course member and one guardian.  All courses include shoe/skate hire where applicable.  In the event of Spectrum management being forced to cancel courses, customers shall be entitiled to a full refund of fees.  In the event of any accident which requires immediate hospital attention, Spectrum reserves the right to adopt appropriate emergency action.  Instructors should be notified in advance of any children with medical problems.

Customer requests for refunds more than 7 days before the start of the course will be subject to a £5.00 administration charge.  No refunds will be given for courses cancelled by the customer 7 days prior to, or any time after the start of the course.  Request for refunds must be given in writing.

Every year, with the support of our customers and staff, we choose a local charity as our ‘Charity of the Year’. This charity benefits from the gift of Active Card points which are donated by customers. We turn these points into tickets for a variety of activities, enabling charity beneficiaries to enjoy leisure time at our facilities that they may otherwise be unable to access. We also support the charity in other ways throughout the year including helping to raise their profile and fundraising efforts.

Our Charity of the Year 2013

[Disability Challengers] is an independent charity that, for more than 30 years, has developed and delivered inclusive play and leisure for disabled children and young people across Surrey, Hampshire and increasingly the surrounding areas. The charity is based in Guildford (at 'Challengers Guildford Playcentre', their headquarters and one of their full time playcentres).

In 2012 they delivered more than 35,200 visits (or 135,616 hours) to 1,385 disabled children and young people. These services were delivered at Challengers Guildford and Farnham Centres as well as schemes based at schools and community youth centres all through the year.

Disability Challengers has developed an approach that has established the confidence and respect of families and partners (including local authorities and private donors). Their approach is guided by a commitment never to exclude any child or young person and works towards providing fun normal play and leisure experiences for disabled children and young people. All this is done in a positive, intelligent and most importantly, fun environment.

Challengers play and youth schemes are where disabled children and young people feel that they belong, are safe, have fun and make friends. At every Challengers play and youth scheme there are lots of enthusiastic staff so that children and young people will always have someone to play and be with. The wide range of activities that they provide means that they can offer disabled young people something to do and somewhere to go from the age of 2 to 25.

How you can help us reach our target

We would like to be able to donate thousands of points to DISABILITY CHALLENGERS this year. This would enable young children, their siblings and families to come swimming every month during the year, or to take time out to come bowling together in their leisure time.

Donating your Active points is easy. Simply visit Customer Services or [email us] with your Active card number and the number of points you would like to donate. We can then deduct these from your total.
