Spectrum Pools - Have a FanSPLASHtic Time!
Spectrum has a magnificent complex of four pools with a variety of sessions for beginners and splashers, to serious swimmers and divers.
The Leisure Pool is an exciting area with fun features including flumes, a tyre ride, bubble beds, sprays and a wave machine. You can also race your friends on the Surf, our 3 lane slide.
At peak times a coloured band system operates in the leisure pool. A minimum of 90 minutes is allocated to your visit to the Pools subject to opening hours and capacities.
At peak times the wave machine operates for five minutes in every thirty. During off-peak sessions the wave machine operates for five minutes once an hour. The Whizz and and Surf slides are not available during off-peak times.
We have an exrtensive range of low and high level interactive water features within the children's section of the leisure pool. These are designed to provide visual stimulation, aid sensory development and build water confidence through play. These include:

- Water Wheels
- Tipping Buckets
- Fish Squirts
- Shark Shower
Competition Pool (25 Metre Pool)
The pool is a 25 x 17 metre, 8 lane deck level swimming pool which is the home of our resident swimming club - Guildford City SC. The pool is used for both programmed lane swimming as well as casual swimming sessions. It is also used for group and private swimming lessons and hosts our water aerobics progamme.
Diving & Teaching Pools
The Diving Pool provides users with a dedicated pool for diving with use of 1 and 3 metre springboards and a 5 metre platfrom.
The Teaching Pool offers parents the opportunity to introduce their children to swimming away from all the activity in the Leisure Pool. It is also used in the complex's extensive swimming lesson programme and for children's parties
Pool Safety - Please read before your visit
All children under 9 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult. Only 2 children under 9 years to every one adult of which only one child can be under 4 years. During Toddler Splash sessions up to 2 children under 4 years can be accompanied by a responsible adult. An adult is someone aged 16 and over.
Please inform the lifeguard if anyone in your group suffers from a medical condition. e.g. epilepsy. There is disabled visitor access to all pools and two chair hoists are available to gain access to the competition pool. Please do not hesitate to ask if you require assistance.
The use of "Mermaid Tails" is not permitted in any of our pools during public swimming sessions (as advised by the QLM).
Slide Height Guidelines
For The Surf and Aqua Whizz, riders must be over 1 metre tall to use the slide. For the Ramp, riders must be under 1 metre tall to use the slide.
Pool Changing Areas
The changing areas for all four pools are situated adjacent to Pool Reception. The area has family cubicles, disabled cubicles, unisex and separate male and female changing rooms.

Pool Training Qualifications
Guildford Spectrum runs a number of Royal Life Saving Society, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification courses each year.
