Freedom Leisure is a not for profit charitable leisure trust currently managing 29 leisure facilities across the South-East including K2 in Crawley and The Triangle in Burgess Hill. From 1 November 2011 Freedom will be operating the three sports and leisure venues in Guildford and Ash by working in partnership with Guildford Borough Council who will retain ownership of these award winning community facilities.
Freedom's mission statement reads;
"We are committed to the provision and development of inclusive leisure and fitness facilities that with continued investment will offer a range of opportunities for improvement in health and social wellbeing for everyone. Our teams are empowered to deliver a service that will exceed our customer's expectations."
"This underpins our absolute commitment to the communities in which we operate and we will work with everybody to enhance and improve the already excellent service and facilities in Guildford and Ash."
The three facilities Freedom Leisure will have day-to-day management responsibility for are;
Guildford Spectrum Leisure Complex – The most exciting leisure complex in the UK! The award winning Guildford Spectrum is a one stop facility where you can enjoy ice skating, tenpin bowling, swimming and a whole range of sporting and fun activities. Professional Ice Hockey adds to a programme of spectator events including ice shows and national sporting events.
Ash Manor Sports Centre - is a dual use centre located in the grounds of Ash Manor School. A state of the art 40 station gym and spinning studio compliments the Sports Hall, Gymnasium and all weather outdoor pitch offering activities including team games, badminton and aerobics classes.
Guildford Lido – One of the few remaining original 1930’s outdoor pools. Guildford Lido is set in 4½ acres of landscaped gardens, with an Olympic sized 50 metre pool it is one of Guildford’s most popular attractions. Guildford Lido is also home to Guildford’s only heavy weight sports gyms.
