Building Works Update - 16th April 2008
Monday 21st April will see the start of PHASE 2 of the Building Remedial Works. Along with the Leisure Pool closure, our Entrance Ramp will also be closed for necessary refurbishment including grit-blasting (over night) and repainting and a total re-tile of its surface. There will be an alternative Entrance/Exit whilst this work is carried out for 4 weeks until Friday 16th May. Please click here for details of our Temporary Main Entrance.
POOL CLOSURES
This phase has the larger impact on the customer as certain pools will have to be closed for a period of time for the work to be done. We have phased the work to ensure that we have certain pools available for use.
The closures will be as follows:

During the closure of the leisure pool (21st April for 4 weeks) we will be treating the rusting on all of the steelwork including the removal of the existing flume staircase which will be treated off-site and returned with a fresh coat of paint. We will also be re-tiling the bottom of the leisure pool and replacing some of the glazing panels over the pool.
Work has now been completed on the roof to replace the glazing panels over the teaching pool and also the installation of a Safe Access System to the roof. The rest of the scaffold surrounding the building has now been struck leaving intermittent scaffold towers.
