Supporting the local community is very important to us
We make an active contribution through staff fundraising, the donation of activity tickets to local community groups and schools and we support a key local charity each year through our Charity of the Year scheme ‘Active Gifts’.
2016 will be the tenth year of running the Charity of the Year partnership and we are pleased to be working with The Royal Surey County Hospital - Teenage and Youg Adult Cancer Serivce
In 2015 over 200,000 points were collected for our then chosen charity, Christophers Smile. This equated to over 400 activity tickets enabling young local people to benefit from the donation. Spectrum has previously worked with Challengers, Shooting Star, Guildford Action, the Fountain Centre, Cherry Trees, Home-Start, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice who all do exceptional work supporting the local community.
We also support The British Heart Foundation (Freedom Leisure's chosen Charity of the Year) Children in Need, Sport Relief and Comic Relief with fundraising activities around the complex.
